Punk Band, Bar Band, Frat Rock Band???
In true DYI form, MxPx have been busy as heck
since the release of "The Ever Passing Moment"
three years ago. The band made rounds on the 2002 Warped Tour,
filmed a Diet Pepsi commercial that aired during Super Bowl
XXXVII and opened for Good Charlotte and New Found Glory this
past spring. After recording over 40 songs, MxPx will release
"Before Everything and After" on September 16. Produced by Dave
Jerden and mixed by Chris and Tom Lord-Alge, "Before
Everything and After" is MxPx's sixth full-length album,
the band's third for A&M Records.
"Everything Sucks (When You're Gone)"
is the first single and video. Other focus tracks on "Before
Everything and After" include "Quit Your Life,"
MxPx's first ever acoustic ballad, and "Well Adjusted." "Well
Adjusted" can be heard in the upcoming MTV Films take on 'Wuthering
Heights' , the next original movie to appear on MTV.
MxPx are the bar band in the movie and lead
vocalist/bassist Mike Herrera makes his acting debut as he
steals Isabel Linton (played by Katherine Heigl) away from
Hendrix Earnshaw (played by Johnny Whitworth). 'Wuthering
Heights' will premiere on MTV on September 23.
To coincide with the release of "Before
Everything and After", Universal Studios Home Video will
release a special edition DVD of 'National Lampoon's Animal
House' to commemorate the film's 25th anniversary. MxPx has
re-recorded the 'Animal House' theme song and a new version of "Shout"
for which a music video has been made. The new songs and video
will be included as bonus material on the DVD which will be
available August 26. |
